CALL TO FAMILY, COMMUNITY AND PARTICIPATION

The human person is not only sacred, but social. How we organize our society — socially, economically, legally and politically — directly affects human dignity and the ability of every human person to grow in community. Marriage and family, the foundations for social life, should be strengthened and supported. Every person has a right to participate in society and a corresponding duty to work for the advancement of the common good and the well-being of all.

Break the Rules Day - from the faith leaders

' This day is when children will have a list of rules that they could possibly break. This day is used for raising money for the church to get a crucifix for the entry of it. The price is one pound per rule break. Now, the catch is you can break as many rules as you want, but only the rules that are listed. As an example, if you were to break three rules it would be three pounds . You could also donate money to the school as well to go towards the church.'

Christmas cards for our local community

Year 2 made Christmas cards for people in the local community and our friends in EYFS took the cards to the church to hand out whilst singing some wonderful carols.

Cleaning up after some windy weather!

Our Faith Leaders went out onto the playground and the school road to tackle the mess left behind after windy weather!

Colour Run Fundraising event for our local community

Our Colour Run fundraising event was a joyful celebration of the Catholic Social Teaching principle of Community and Participation. By coming together to support a shared cause, pupils, families and staff demonstrated the importance of working in solidarity and contributing to the life of the school community. The event encouraged teamwork, inclusivity and generosity, helping children to understand that everyone has a role to play in building a caring and supportive community.

Harvest Festival

We invited the parents and the wiser members of our community into school for a special performance of harvest praise. The children enjoyed having the opportunity to meet with the eldest members of our community and served them tea and cake!
