Hello everyone!

Literacy: Please log into Purple Mash and type '2 create a story' into the search engine, select create a story and then select a simple story. Please see the attached photo to see what the program looks like. I would like you to draw a picture of Marlon and the other characters from the story, 'The Last Noo-Noo.' Then please re-tell the story by typing in the box provided. Remember that by re-telling the story you are explaining what happened. Please use your story map to help you remember the sequence. You may also want to think about yesterday's lesson and think about Marlon's feelings.

Extension: Please use the capital letter key to type capital letters at the beginning of sentences and after full stops.

Phonics: Please watch the video for today's new sound and practice all of the new digraphs we have learnt this week. They are, ay, oy, ou. You can also click on the link below for some extra words.

Extension: Please type in 'shapes' into the search engine in Purple Mash and select 2DAM shapes to create your own shape. You can explore the different buttons and choose various colours and sizes.

Design and Technology: Our new topic is 'UK Food' which links to our Geography topic. Please look at the presentation attached and learn about different types of food and where they come from. Then please write a list and draw your favourite foods in your work books. Please save your list because you will need it for your lesson next week.

Art: If you would like to complete an extra art activity then please look for a 3D shape that you could use from your recycling that you could decorate. Can you decorate it in the colours blue, red and white as they are the colours of our UK flag 🇬🇧 or you may have your own idea of how you could decorate a 3D shape.

Wednesday 13th January 2021

Hi everyone,

It was lovely to see you again on Zoom yesterday!

Literacy: I want you to think about the main character in the story, can you remember his name? I want you to think about how he is feeling after his friends have been taunting him. You can look at the photo on Tapestry to help you. Do you think he might feel sad? Why? Please think about all of the things that make you feel sad and all of the things that make you feel happy. Please draw yourself and write labels for things that make you feel happy and sad. Please watch the video to help you.

Extension: Please use the labels you have used for your happy and sad picture and write some sentences. You could start your writing with 'The things that make me feel sad are.....'
If you are finding the literacy tasks manageable then please challenge yourselves and make sure you are completing the extensions and are writing as much as possible. Sound out using your sound mats, remember capital letters and full stops. Please also use the words 'and' and 'because' to help you make your writing longer.

Phonics: Please see the 'ou' presentation and sound out and blend all of the 'ou' words. Please write them in your workbooks.

Maths: Please look at the guided practice and decide which are rectangles, circles triangles and squares. Then complete pages 143-145 in your workbook.

RE: You will be learning about the Story of Exodus, please click on the link below to listen to the story. Do you have a bible at home? Could you find the story of Exodus with someone's help?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzcYLCYItuc

Please see the colouring picture of Baby Moses and colour it in. If you do not have a printer at home then please draw a picture of Baby Moses in his basket and colour it in. Also, please continue to practice the Lord's Prayer and The Hail Mary prayer at home.
You could also write a few sentences in your workbook about what happened to Baby Moses

For a reflection, please click on the link below for a song we like to listen at school or you can choose any relaxing music that you like and that helps you to think about God. Please close your eyes and put your hands together. Please relax and think about our literacy lesson this morning. Think about the things that make you feel happy and sad and remember that God is always there to help you. I have also attached a prayer that you might like to read.
