Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Nursery! We hope you had a great summer break and look forward to welcoming your child into our Nursery.

 Autumn Term

This term our topics will be 'I'm amazing' and 'Light and Dark'.Within 'I'm amazing' we will be exploring; About Me, What do I look like, My family, My friends, Kindness and People who help us. Within the topic 'Light and Dark' we will be exploring; Autumn,  Harvest,  Remembrance Day,  Bonfire Night, Fireworks, Diwali and Christmas.

RE - RE lessons will take place every Tuesday. The aim is to develop children's understanding of the world's religions. Through religious education, children will learn about different religions and their traditions, practices and beliefs.

Music - Music will be taught every Thursday. Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words. Dancing to music helps children build motor skills while allowing them to practice self-expression. For children and adults, music helps strengthen memory skills.

PE Day - PE will be on Friday. The curriculum focuses on children's physical development, teaching and developing the fundamental skills of movement, balance, coordination, flexibility and agility. Your child will come in to school in their PE kits and where their kits throughout their session at nursery. For safety reasons, we tape over earrings, so if your child wears earrings you may want to remove them on PE days.

Library Day - Library will be on Friday. The children will have the opportunity to visit the school library every Friday where they will choose a library book to take home to read with family and friends. This book is then changed every Friday.

Spare Clothes - Please provide your child with a bag of change of clothes (including socks) in a named bag. This will be kept on their peg.

Clothing - Please ensure all clothing is clearly named. The children are required to wear school uniform (white polo shirt, red jumper/cardigans, grey/black trousers/jogging bottoms/skirts) Suitable shoes for running/climbing - Velcro if possible. Suitable outdoor coat with a hood gloves and hat.

Tapestry - Learning journals are an important piece to keep as they provide the necessary evidence and support all tracking and development documents. They also show a clear path of the child's learning journey, evidencing starting points, progress and interests. We observe all children in the Nursery and record their learning journeys electronically. Please ensure we have an up to date email address for you as you will be notified each time an observation has been uploaded.

Yours Sincerely
