Pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC) naming this school will be admitted to St Bernadette's. Places for children with other special educational needs or disabilities will be allocated on the normal basis in accordance with our admissions policy and oversubscription criteria.

School admissions

All applications for September 2022 admission should be made online via Herts Direct - see link to the right of this page (online systems open in November 2021). Admission to other year groups or to Reception outside the normal admissions procedure are known as In-year admissions.

In addition, parents/carers must complete a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) and submit this to the school together with the Certificate of Catholic Practice (CCP), as required by the Diocese of Westminster. This certificate is required for applications for school entry in the academic year 2022/23.

The deadline for applications for entry to Reception 2022/23 is 15th January 2022. See link to the right of this page dates of all events in the admissions timetable.


Appeals resulting applications for admission in September 2021 will be heard according to the following timetable:
Allocation day Appeals lodged by
16.04.21 4pm on 21.5.21
Appeals lodged after these dates will be heard within 40 school days of the appeal deadline or 30 school days of being lodged, whichever is the later date.

Appellants will be sent notification of their appeal hearing at least 10 clear school days in advance of the hearing.

Appellants will be sent a copy of the school's case seven working days in advance of the hearing.

We currently offer 15 funded hours of nursery provision per week and applications for entry to Nursery 2021/22 are now open - see link to the right of this page. Please apply directly to the school.
