Premises

Health and Safety Policy

The Education Act 2002 empowers the Secretary of State to prescribe standards for the premises of all schools, for Academies these are set out in the Education (England) Regulations 2010.

St Bernadette Catholic Primary School adheres to regulations in relation to health and safety, including fire safety, and has policies and risk assessments in place for all areas. Such documents are reviewed and updated on an annual basis, or more regularly if required. Checks are carried out by specialist external contractors where appropriate. The school uses a premises management tool to ensure site safety for ongoing maintenance and utilises the services of a property consultancy firm for major work or new projects as part of the school's regularly reviewed Site Condition Survey.

Copies of policies and risk assessments can be obtained by contacting the school office admin@stbernadette.herts.sch.uk.

All Saints Catholic Academy Trust (ASCAT)

Formed in 2016, as part of the Diocese of Westminster's Academy Strategy, we provide a collaborative structure of school support and innovation for Catholic schools in South West Hertfordshire. Our vision of an 'Outstanding Education for All' comes from this desire to enable all members of school communities to flourish and succeed and to do all that we can to make our schools places where ambition for all is at the heart of everything that we do.
